A very HAPPY vet team at BOS Foundation’s Nyaru Menteng orangutan rehabilitation centre! Thanks to OVAID supporters generous donations, the vet team have been able to purchase a brand new Electrosurgical Cautery Unit and yes they are practicing on an apple !

The unit enables the vets to perform precision surgery with the capability to control bleeding, which can be life saving in some complex surgeries. It can also be used for excising small growths etc.

The machine cost £1,100, but it’s worth every penny for the safety of their orangutan
