Time heals all wounds? - Sometimes you need the help of Georgie and the Vet Wound Library Team!

Arga and Pandu were able to share the extensive expertise of vet Georgie Hollis founder of the Veterinary Wound Library, John Hall Senior Soft Tissue Lecturer from the Royal Dick Vet School,Edinburgh and veterinary nurse Sam Ashfield from Twycross Zoo in a day's experience as part of the OVAID scholarship in conjunction with Chester Zoo. Wound management can be challenging in orangutan as the patients are rarely co-operative and follow up treatments can often not be administered. This was a really useful experience for both Arga and Pandu and this vital establishment of working relationships with UK veterinary experts means that their centres in Indonesia can have access to latest information and practices for the future.
